Many declare to have a heart on fire for God. The frightening reality is that the potential exists to have the declaration of the fire of God in our lives without the manifestation. The spirit of religion that is not marked by an authentic relationship with Christ causes many to have the language of being on fire for God without the lifestyle. Be sure to watch the full video podcast as I dig into the prophetic parallels between the human heart and the spiritual heart that is on fire. The full video podcast will also go deeper into the four things mentioned below that are evident in a heart that is on fire for God. The heart on fire is zealous to walk in good works.

Titus 2:14 says, “Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people zealous.” (fiery for Good Works)

1. THE HEART ON FIRE IS FULL OF THE WORD OF GOD

The reality is that the heart that is on fire for God is the heart that is full of the Word of God. The Word of God is like fire on the inside of you. I have learned in my walk with God that the more time in the Word of God allowing it to transform my life not as head knowledge but as heart knowledge the more on fire I become.

Psalm119:9-11 says, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Consider the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24:32. There was a conversation about Jesus while Jesus was right next to them. Once the revelation came that they were talking to the Lord, the Word of God was clear that their hearts had begun to burn. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh in the earth and His very words caused their hearts to burn. His Word will also cause your heart to burn!

Luke 24:32 says, “And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

2. THE HEART ON FIRE WILL PRAISE AND WORSHIP GOD

The heart on fire for God will surely praise and worship God all the days of their life. To praise God means to declare the excellence of God in the earth. To worship God is to declare His worth to you through a lifestyle of obedience. Praise and worship can be expressed through songs. However, worship is not the song you sing, it is the life

you live, out of the life you live you will have a song to sing. When your heart is on fire for God praise and worship will become a lifestyle not just event that happens in a church service.

Psalm 119:7 says, “I will praise you with uprightness of Heart, When I have learned your righteous laws and judgments.” Knowing the Word of God is key to properly praising God.”

Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is My strength and My shield, my heart trusted in Him and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise him.”

Psalm 97:1-3 says, “The Lord reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about.”

John 4:23 says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”

3. THE HEART ON FIRE IS PURE

The heart on fire for God will walk in purity. The fire of God will surely confront and convict our lives of things that are displeasing to God. The heart on fire for God cannot live a lifestyle of sin and be content.

Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Psalm 24:4-5 says, “He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

4. THE HEART ON FIRE SERVES OTHERS

The heart on fire for God will always desire to serve others. Jesus came to serve and not be served but to lay down His life as a ransom. If we desire to be on fire like Jesus then our hearts will be overwhelmed with a passion to serve people. People on fire for God will serve the Body of Christ with the spirit of excellence.

Ephesians 6:7-8 says, “With goodwill doing service as to the Lord and not me, knowing that whatever good anyone does he will receive the same from the Lord.”
