The anointing of the Holy Spirit is represented by oil. The anointing upon your life makes the difference in any and every atmosphere. The anointing alters situations and changes atmospheres. The anointing means to be set apart and empowered by the Holy Spirit to do the work of the ministry! The anointing of the Holy Spirit accomplishes what man is incapable of accomplishing. God desires to anoint you to destroy the works of the devil in the earth.

In the book of Exodus, the Lord gave Moses the recipe of the anointing and told him to make oil and it shall be a holy anointing oil. God told him to anoint the tabernacle of the meeting, anoint the ark of the testimony, anoint the table and the utensils, anoint the lampstand and the utensils, anoint the altar of incense, anoint the altar of burnt offerings and all the utensils. He also told Moses to anoint Aaron and his sons consecrate them so that they may minister as priests. The oil was a certain recipe that was not to be altered. The heart of God in the Old Testament was that He wanted certain things anointed as a picture of His Spirit being upon those things. In the New Testament Jesus died, got up from the grave on the third day, and then sent His precious Holy Spirit to live inside and upon the life of every blood-bought believer. Please take the necessary time to listen to the video podcast that will elaborate on each of these five markings that will upon the life of somebody who is truly anointed by God.

FIVE MARKINGS OF THE ANOINTING UPON YOUR LIFE

I believe five things should be happening in your life when the anointing comes

upon you according to the ministry of the Lord of Jesus Christ!

Luke 4:18 says, “ The Spirit ( the breath, wind or Spirit) of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me (Anointed in Greek means He has consecrated you or anointed you by rubbing or pouring olive oil on you representing the flow or EMPOWERING of the Holy Spirit) to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captive, to give sight back to the blind, and to set free those who are oppressed by the devil to proclaim the acceptable year of the lord.”

1. THE ANOINTING WILL CAUSE YOU TO PREACH THE GOSPEL

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.” When the anointing is upon a person they will preach the gospel. Many feel anointed for so many things, but the anointing to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with our mouths and with our lives should be evident.

Mark 16:15 says, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” Matthew 10:8 says, “Preach the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”

The poor means the destitute, the afflicted, the humble, the crushed in spirit, or those who tremble at His Word! These are the ones that God desires that we go and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to.

2. THE ANOINTING TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to heal the brokenhearted.” God is close to the brokenhearted and He anoints His children to function in an anointing that can bring healing to the brokenhearted. When the anointing is upon your life there is no chance you can encounter someone that is brokenhearted and not share Christ and pray for healing over their lives.

3. THE ANOINTING TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to proclaim liberty to the captive.” You will encounter people who are lost and have been taken captive to do the will of Satan. God desires to anoint your life to set them free. The power of God working inside of the believer is stronger than the power of the enemy.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 says, “And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.”

4. THE ANOINTING TO GIVE SIGHT BACK TO THE BLIND

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because he has anointed Me to give sight back to the blind.” God anoints His people to open blinded eyes in the natural but also to open the eyes of those who are spiritually blinded by the devil.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

We are called and anointed by God to give the naturally blind their sight back and the spiritually blind their sight back! Giving sight back to the spiritually blind is opening the spiritual eyes of the lost through the glorious light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

5. THE ANOINTING TO FREE ALL OF THOSE OPPRESSED BY THE DEVIL

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to free all of those that are oppressed.” There are real demonic forces that have oppressed the soul of mankind. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is upon your life to break every yoke of bondage and free those that are oppressed by the devil.

Isaiah 10:27 says, “It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
