God is raising up an army of believers in the last days who are contending for authentic revival fire that is not defined by their feelings but from a place of knowing who their God is. Revival fire is not an idea, an event you attended, a spiritual buzzword, or a social media flyer. Revival fire is revealed through a person named Jesus Christ who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Who came to this earth to seek and save that which is lost and destroy the works of the devil.

Revival means to bring something back to life and the fire of the Holy Spirit is the purity, passion, and power in which the church is called to bring life to a dying world. A true manifestation of revival fire will settle the reality that hell cannot prevail against the church.

Matthew 3:11 says, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Matthew 16:13-18 says, “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, But who do you say that I am?”  Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

1. REVIVAL FIRE IS ON A SEEK AND DESTROY MISSION

When God impacts the earth with revival fire through the Holy Spirit it is to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ which is to seek and save that which is lost and to destroy the works of the devil. When the mission is forgotten then revival fire becomes a spiritual buzzword and social media hype that stirs up emotions but aborts the mission.

Luke 19:10 says, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

1 John 3:8 says, “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Revival fire declares that hell shall not prevail against the church. Jesus Christ died, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven sending back the promised Holy Spirit so that His church could be clothed with power from on high. The Holy Spirit desires to empower the church to fulfill the mission of seeking and saving that which is lost and destroying the works of the devil. Wherever there is revival fire there will also be the fulfillment of the mission of seeking and saving the lost and destroying the works of the devil.

2. REVIVAL FIRE RESTS IN THE REVELATION OF CHRIST

Revival fire must rest in the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. Spiritual authority and power that resides in revival fire all begin with the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. Whether or not you know Him determines whether or not hell will take you seriously.

When Jesus came into Caesarea Philippi which was known as the darkest place on the planet the only question He asked was, “Who do you say that I am?” This may seem like a simple question but the answer to this question is the very answer that determines whether or not the forces of hell would be subdued and the revival fire of heaven could come down. Many want revival fire but they have not settled it in their heart that all power and authority to destroy the works of the devil rests in the revelation of Jesus Christ.

When Peter responded, “You are the Christ the Son of the living God,” upon this revelation Jesus began to issue keys to the Kingdom of Heaven that empowers mankind to bind and to loose. Jesus promised that whatever he would bind on earth would be bound in heaven whatever is loosed in the earth would be loosed in heaven. Keys represent spiritual authority to bind and to loose. The word bind in Greek means to forbid and the word loose in Greek means to permit. In other words upon knowing who Jesus is the church has the authority to forbid satan from fulfilling his plans and strategies on the earth. They also have the authority to loose heaven on the earth. Jesus taught His disciples to pray that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10 says, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

3. REVIVAL FIRE BUILDS THE CHURCH

Jesus made it clear that upon this rock which is the revelation of who He is, He would build a church and the gates of hell shall not prevail. When Jesus who is the walking, living, breathing revival that brings life to everything empowers His church with the fire of His Holy Spirit the kingdom of hell does not stand a chance. The building of the church is not the building of buildings or implementation of programs but in Greek, the word church means out of calling. God desires His church to be established out of God’s calling. It also means God’s ruling governmental authority that has the power to legislate in the heavens. Every blood-bought believer in Jesus Christ has the authority to legislate in heaven with spiritual authority to bind the works of the devil and loose heaven in the earth. The church is built when the mission is not aborted and the church executes kingdom authority to seek and save that which is lost and destroys the works of the devil. Authentic revival fire will build the church of Jesus Christ with power and authority in the last days.
