There is a race for eternal life that is set before you and how you run it matters. This race can be run spiritually dehydrated by not drinking of the waters of the Holy Spirit. It can be run under the influence of a spirit of sloth that makes you lazy and unproductive. This race can be run without a fiery zeal and passion for the things of God. Your race can be run many ways but rest assured when the race is over, however you run will be recorded in eternity forever. Your spiritual speed, endurance, and faithfulness to stay the course will be reflected at the Judgment Seat of Christ. If we know that the results of our race are recorded in heaven then why not RUN WITH FIRE!

Galatians 5:7 says, “You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.”

This means that you were running the race well at one point but who has interfered and prevented you from obeying the truth? This deceptive persuasion is not from Him who called you to freedom in Christ. You must be careful that you do not allow satan to use people to interfere with your race of faith which is the most important race of your lifetime. I believe that running with fire will keep you from being hindered in your eternal race in the last days.

1. RUN WITH THE FIRE OF HOLINESS

When the fire of the Holy Spirit comes upon your life there will be evidence of holiness in your life.  It is very difficult for hell to hinder holiness as the flame of God burns through your life. The fire of the Holy Spirit in your life consumes those things in your life that are not of God causing you to give no place to the devil. Satan can only tempt those things that you desire. The fire of the Holy Spirit brings purity to your desires, passion, and power to advance the Kingdom of God. The fire of God is sure to shake loose the hindrances in your life. When there is the evidence of holiness in your life as you set your eyes on the prize, not looking to the left or the right then the kingdom of hell will struggle to hinder you.

Matthew 3:11 says, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Hebrews 12:29 says, “For our God is a consuming fire.”

1 Peter 1:15-17 says, “but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, Be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each ones work, conduct your_selves throughout the time of your stay here in fear.”

James 1:13-14 says, “Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.”

2. RUN WITH THE FIRE THAT BRINGS GOD GLORY

When the fire of the Holy Spirit comes upon your life it burns your flesh away and reveals Jesus through your life. The more that hell sees less of you and more of Jesus coming through you the more he thinks twice about hindering your race. Everything in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth bows to the name of Jesus. Hell remembers that Jesus disarmed all principalities and powers and made a public spectacle out of the devil. God is calling you to live a life that brings Jesus glory in the way you talk, walk, and live your life. When your life brings Jesus glory, you will also be certain to give Jesus all the glory for changing your life. Your race must be run with passion to see Jesus get all the glory out of your life.

Isaiah 42:8 says, “I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

3. RUN WITH THE FIRE THAT MAINTAINS A WITNESS

When the fire of the Holy Spirit fills your life you will feel an overwhelming sense to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ in this eternal race. Those who run with fire to be a witness are not easily hindered as they keep their focus on the reason Jesus came which was to seek and save that which is lost. The time is now to tell every person you know about Jesus Christ and become a runner in the eternal race that is committed to populating heaven and snatching souls from the grips of hell.

Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

4. RUN WITH THE FIRE OF THE WORD OF GOD

When the fire of the Holy Spirit fills your life He always leads you into the truth of the Word of God that becomes divine guidance in your race. Don’t ever try to run your eternal race in your own strength without the Word of God. You are going to find that as you run with the fire of the Word of God inside of you, you will supernaturally know what to do in the eternal race. Those who know what to do in the race through the leadership of the Holy Spirit will have spiritual endurance and will finish strong when Jesus returns or they go to heaven by way of the grave.

Jeremiah 23:29 says, “Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord,

And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

John 16:13 says, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Your eternal race began the day you gave your life to Jesus. On your spiritual birthday imagine these words, “On your mark… Get set… Go! The eternal race has begun and you must finish strong. Run with the fire of holiness, the fire of giving God the glory, the fire of being a witness on the earth, and the fire of the Word of God! As you run with the fire of the Holy Spirit you are sure to hear, “Well done My good and faithful servant!”
