The reality is that we live in an hour where many are giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. The enemy wants to persuade the church of the Lord Jesus Christ into believing that the signs of the times that are becoming so horrific in the last days are going to give way to a powerless church. This is truly a lie from the pit of hell. If we will allow our lives to be filled with the Holy Spirit we will surely see the rise of a powerful endtime church. Signs of the times are certainly upon us but we have a promise that God is going to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh in the last days.

Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 2:17 says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.”

God has not called us to drift away from the power of the early church, but rather walk in the same power of the early church. Consider these 6 things that reveal that the power of God that is available is more than enough to deal with anything on this earth in the last days.

1. GREAT POWER

The endtime church should operate in Great Power in the last days. Acts 4:33 says, “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” The word great in Greek means that we should have power in a large, great, and in the widest sense. Imagine the God of the universe that stepped out of heaven defeating death, hell, and the grave and arming His church with great power!

This power in Acts 4 was not just a power to have a revival meeting, power to host a conference, or power that causes people to fall on the ground. In Acts 4 Peter and John were arrested for preaching the gospel and walking in this power. They are taken into custody by the rulers who had nothing on them because the people rejoiced in the power that they walked in. As they continued to lift up the name of Jesus they released them from custody.

The word power in Greek is dunamis meaning power, strength, and might. A power that multiplies itself. They started with the power to preach, then the power to walk in miracles signs, and wonders, and the power to be arrested and not get mad at God. They also walked in a power that go them released from jail. This power multiplied to the point that they prayed and the whole house was shaken!

Acts 4:31 says, “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

2. MIGHTY AND EXCEEDING POWER

Ephesians 1:17-21 says, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the workingof His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

The word exceeding describes the power of God as an overthrowing power that can go beyond. It means to transcend, surpass, or exceed. It becomes difficult to announce what hell is doing and has been able to accomplish when you carry the exceeding power of God inside of you that surpasses and transcends all things. Hell may try to attack your body but it is time to tap into exceeding power. Hell is after your mind but you have access to exceeding power. Paul even informs us that this power is what worked in Christ Jesus when he got up from the grave. Exceeding power is resurrection power. There is no greater power than resurrection power in the face of the enemy attempting to steal, kill, and destroy. When you have exceeding resurrection power then hell’s plans for your life don’t seem to matter because you have the power of God that is greater inside of you.

3. EXCELLENT POWER

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

Often in the East treasures were hidden in earthen vessels to protect them. The Holy Spirit is inside of us. This passage reveals that our bodies are frail vessels but inside of us is the treasure of the power of the Holy Ghost. Your outward man is perishing, but your inward man is being renewed day by day. This is why Paul writes to the church of Corinth revealing that we are hard-pressed on every side but not crushed.

You may be perplexed puzzled, baffled, and mystified according to the Word of God. However, your vessel has felt that there is a power that is greater on the inside of you which is why you can be perplexed but not in despair. Persecuted but not forsaken. They could do things to your body because of the preaching of the Gospel but God will never leave you nor forsake you. Finally, you can be struck down but not destroyed!

Excellent power means surpassing and overthrowing but it is the context of anything coming after your body which is an earthen vessel. The time is now for the last days church to be able to operate in power.

4. ETERNAL POWER

Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Another aspect of the power of God is that it is eternal. God carries eternal power which means everlasting power. Eternal meaning that the power of God has no beginning and it has no end. It is lasting and it exists forever. This power has stood the test of time and will always stand the test of time. It is a power that cannot and will not be overtaken by mankind. The government will never be able to build anything more powerful than God’s eternal power. Artificial Intelligence will never get so sophisticated that it has more power than God’s eternal power.

Isaiah 40:20 says, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.”

Psalm 90:2 says, “Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

5. GLORIOUS POWER

Colossians 1:9-12 says, “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”

There is a glorious power in our lives. Glorious means power that is about honoring God, especially honoring Him for His unspoken manifestations. Those times that God revealed Himself when you did not ask or you did not even know what He did to bless you or protect you. The word praise is connected to this glorious power. There is a power inside of you so great where God does things you don’t even see at times.

This ought to cause you to break out in praise and adoration to an awesome God!

6. DIVINE POWER

2 Peter 1:3 says, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”

The power that is upon your life and lives inside of you as a believer in Jesus Christ is divine power. Divine power means that this power will always manifest the characteristics of God’s nature. This is one of the ways you can tell if the power of hell is trying to operate through your life or the power of God. Many people will call certain things God because they might appear to be powerful. However divine power will always be filled with an expression of the characteristics and nature of God.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 says, “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders.”

May God’s people operate in full power in the last days believing that nothing is too big for our God!
